For those following along at home - and at work - the Sail Blog app is just a straight line, giving our anchored locations - where we end for the day. That makes it look like our route goes right through several land masses. The Garmin track linked above, which I started in Powell River, is giving a fairly continuous tracking of our travels; showing the ins and outs (and backtracking) we are doing. Also you will notice that the dates of the writing seem a little off. I am writing several entries when I have a connection so the entries reflect that date. I will start putting the date we were at the location in the entry if I can.

Our original destination for this leg was a spot called Otter Cove. By the time we arrived there, we had passed upper Okisollo rapids with no issues and had only been out for 3 hours or so. We opted to continue as the wind in Johnstone Strait was not terrible and we wanted to make some more headway up north. We decided on going into Blind Channel as that was a spot we also wanted to see and made the turn off of the Strait into the Channel.

Blind Channel gets its name from the difficult entry visibility from Johnstone Strait. If it were not listed on the chart - you'd look over and not even know that there was an opening to go into. We opted to stay at Blind Channel Marina and treat ourselves to dinner at the Cedar Post restaurant; we had missed our 30 year anniversary dinner when I was in Seattle. Dinner and the view were great and we didn't even have to leave early - timing the next set of rapids at Green Point had us off the dock at @ 12:30 so we had some time to do a little boat washing and clothes washing. Always important to keep up the good looks!
