More to come on this beautiful city.

Bahia Balandra

I met a woman hiking here who said "this is what you see in all the advertisements". And it really is beautiful. Another national park, it is only about 12 miles from La Paz and very busy weekends.

Bahia de los Muertos

Ron Risden
Muertos means dead in Spanish. The name of the bay comes from the fact that the indigenous people of this area used to bury their dead on nearby Cerralvo Island.

We stayed here about 6 days enjoying the surroundings but also waiting for a good weather window to go through Cerralvo channel. We were looking for a nice easy ride after a rough one from Frailes to Muertos - and we got one.

Los Frailes

Ron Risden
Los Frailes means "The Friars" in Spanish. It's called that because the rock formations nearby look like robed friars climbing a hill.

Everything you see in the photo is part of Cabo Pulmo National Park and UNESCO World Heritage site. The reefs in this area have been restored to amazing diversity and productivity through protection from fishing, anchoring etc.

Cabo

This is where our crew left us and friends from Washington came down to meet us and celebrate Ron's 70th birthday.

San Diego to Cabo San Lucas

Ron Risden
After 2 weeks anchored in Glorietta Bay we took off with the Baja Haha for Cabo stopping at Turtle Bay (pictured above) and Bahia Santa Maria on the way.
