Splice away

10 June 2008 | Whangarei
Kia Ora, and Happy New Year/Matariki

Well I taught myself how to splice an eye into a rope yesterday.
I had made a canvas bucket, as described by the Pardeys in "Cost conscious cruiser", and was waiting for Paul (The Sailor) to eye splice the handle (bail) onto the bucket and then attach the heaving line with an eye splice.
Now, I made this bucket a good 3 months ago, and the rope action wasn't a happening thing. So I decided to just have a go myself, it turned out really well. Paul was quite surprised and even accused me of getting someone else to do it. Ha Ha Ha
Now I would include a photo of my splendiferous job but ?!#$ there are no batteries in the ?!#%camera.
Will get some batteries tomorrow and remedy the lack of photo.

Cheers for now
