Monitor mounted

18 October 2008 | Ray Roberts Marine
At last we have the Monitor mounted. Paul has had it on and off for the last three days. But At last it is on, and it looks good. We bought the windvane second hand about 8-9 months ago, we purchased the mounting tubes for a Westsail from Scanmar, and voila we have a windvane. Now we can't wait until we are back in the water to try it out.
Well another weekend has passed, we spent so much time down the boat, but not much seems to show for it, that is how it is on a boat.

We are sorting out our gas fittings at the moment. We discovered that our solenoid switch draws more power than 5 of our LED lights, so we are getting rid of it. We are having an external valve installed, that can be opened and shut from the interior (Paul's brilliant idea). The Gasfitter has designed the valve for us, what a bloke.
We hope to have this fitted on Tuesday, with any luck.

We are now waiting for the Rigger to install the backstay aerial for the SSB Radio, and to renew some lifelines and inspect the rig for us. We are also getting a new companionway dodger made and fitted, we had to do this because of the new companionway turtle. And of course we need to repaint the bottom, once I haved finished scraping the hull ( I will have killer arm muscles when finished).

Back to work tommorrow until noon, and then scraping anti-foul in the afternoon. I am so glad I only work part-time.
