As of tomorrow, we are two weeks from departure. I can't believe it.

(Scream of terror and angst)

Not really - it seems things will be done. Still awaiting Lexan panels for dodger.

Decided, after no word last week, that the part needed for the rebuild of the water pump was too dicey - Monday morning Marty got on the phone and started calling - after about an hour, HE FOUND A NEW WATER PUMP! It should arrive tomorrow from New York.

Lesson: no one cares like you do, so do the legwork yourownself. There WAS one, it seemingly just wasn't worth anyone else's time to find it.

Of course, once we confirmed that the new one was coming, we were told the part had arrived and our old one has been rebuilt! (BUT OF COURSE!)

So - we will have the new one installed, and the old rebuilt one as backup!

Over the weekend there was a lovely double ender on the KHYC rigging docks flying a Haha flag. We meant to go down and introduce ourselves, but no one seemed to be aboard, and then when they were aboard it was blowing a gale and we would have been soaked w/ the spray coming over the breakwater. As of tonight, they are gone and there is a Peterson 44 out there also flying a Haha flag - but I didn't get a chance to go down, so if we meet them or not will depend on how long they stay.

It's a bit daunting that all these other people are DONE getting ready and already en route....and we aren't even FUNCTIONAL. I just take deep breaths...

Extra: Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. – Mark Twain
