List Reduction Progress

02 August 2009 | RB, CA
It's finally starting to feel like we are more or less on top of The List. Yesterday Marty began installing the new saltwater faucet. (The galley features a non-electrical footpump that brings freshwater from the water tanks to the sink; an electrical pump w/ regular faucet that brings freshwater to the sink; and an electrical pump that brings saltwater to the sink. Washing dishes first w/ saltwater then a final rinse in fresh is a conservation technique!) The old saltwater-delivery was via a sprayer, which really got saltwater all over the place - anytime we used it, we had to follow w/ wiping down saltwater from various walls, ceiling and windows! Hence the refit.
Farthest left is dispenser of filtered, drink-able water. Next is regular electric-pump freshwater faucet. Next is new saltwater faucet. The hook-shaped faucet part swivels fore and aft and turns to the right, moving it out of the way when using the other faucets. Far right is the foot-pump freshwater faucet.

This is how it WILL look when it is DONE. It is not DONE yet, as it is LEAKING. Very frustrating....

Extra: Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. – Mark Twain
