Hello folks We finally received the part for our rig repair on Thursday in a pouring rainstorm so we had to wait until this morning to install it. The forecast was for thunderstorms but it looked pretty good so we added some halyards to hold up the rig while we released the standing rigging so Mark Logan could go up and install the new D3 turnbuckle. Up he went and it took 2 hours hanging in the bosun"s chair. It started raining but no thunder storms and the wind was very light which helped a lot. So we are all fixed and ready to leave for the Tuamotos. We are stalling untill there is a bit more wind from a good direction, like east or south east. Gail and clay Hutchison had to leave us here because of the delay in fixing the rig. They were supposed fly out this noon but the fight was canceled because of the awful forecast. Clay decided to stay in a pension , small Hotel, to leave us free to prep for the next leg of our cruise. Nancy has to do a little more shopping and we are waiting for the freighter, Taporo IV to bring the fresh food, vegies and fruit. Its due Sunday or Monday then we will be on the way. Current crew is Mark Logan, David and Nancy Nottage. We hope to swing by Vahanga Atoll where there may be a lady stranded. She left here in a small boat after an argument with her family and disappeared 3 weeks ago. The family chartered a plane to check the southern Tuamotos for any sign of her. They think they saw footprints on Vahanga and asked us to swing by and check it out. I thought we would get as close to where they say the saw footprints on an uninhabited motu, blow an air horn and see if anyone appears. Will only try if the wind lets us sail high enough to fetch the Acteon group where we plan to go. Thats all for now, hope to be underway by Monday. Cheers to all, David Nottage
