Greetings from the southern pacific ocean. Kaimiloa got under way this morning after a stop at the Bakery located 200 feef from our anchorage. Two baguettes, 10 chocolate Croissants, and 3bags of ice for the igloo. Avon on deck and 4 weeks of limu scrubbed off and stowed in its bag on deck. We motored for an hour charging batterys, making water and getting organised, still in the lagoon. Up on the main, full hoist , out on the Willis cruising jib, out with the two trolling poles and away we were.. It was blowing 12 k as we cleared the pass and we were doing 7 plus right on course for the Acteon group, three atolls on top of one undersea mountain. As I said before in the last blog we will get as close as possible blow an air horn and look with binoculars for any action on Vahanga atoll. Seems very unlikely that we will see or find anything but the Sichoix family asked us to swing by and have a look. Its not far of our course, especially since we have no idea what our next stop will be. True cruisers going where the ride is nicest. Speaking of which here we are. wind 9 to 10 knots abaft abeam making 6.3 0ver the bottom with pots and hatches open. Nancy is on watch from 1500 to 1800 but just decided to shower before going up. The pilot is doing the driving, the cockpit is in the shade so its a little chilly. We will do a wine coolerat 1700 with two Mohitos for the crew. Gail Hutchinson discovered these cartons of Mohito mix that Nancy has kind of fallen in love with , a splash ov vodka ever, um um. No fish yet but ever hopeful, Denser we have our eyes out for rubbish and the missing boat from Mangareva. Need a Mahi mahi badly If nothing today will cross the Acteon seamount tomorrow, maybe then..

We have been told that Amanu Atoll just past Hao is pretty nice, so we may shoot for there. They Say that Hau was the barracks island for the French Nuclear Testing done down here. Cinder block building and not so nice. But if they Have ice for the Mohitos we may need to stop there. Actually we have a good ice making rig in the main freezer. Three trays tight against the plate and we are good.

Just noticed onn the plotter that there are more 4 islands right on our route, Pinaki, Vairataea, Vahitahi and Akiaki. We have no detailed chart for them wich probably means there are not navigable passes into their lagoons . Maybe one of our friends with an internet connection can check them out on line for us, How about it Hunter. Cheers and love to the family, Grampa , Cptn David Nottage
