Hi folks So far this passage has been pretty mellow. Lite air sailing for the first two days and now motoring it looks like most of the way to Fatu Hiva. Of course we try to sail when ever possible, but its not happening now. We left Amanu Noon on Wed with enough wind to sail we would motor sail, jib and Main plus the motor when ever the wind drops below 7 k. We have 4 k on the nose so the jib is rolled up and the main is centered and we are making 5 knotts toward our goal. Wed afternoon we fought a small 150 # Marlin up to the boat , got our lure and let him go. So far thats the only fish on this leg. Still trying for two more days. I think we will try to go into the Village of Omoa, for our first call at Fatu Hiva.. Hopping to get baguettes and croissants at the bakery there , the only one on the island. Its a rocky rolly anchorage, so we will move to Hanavave as soon as we can, 5 miles down the coast. Hanavave is call the bay of Virgins on some charts and usually has a bunch of cruising boats anchored. Home to be there Monday , will keep you posted. G Night D Nottage
