Dinghy Skeg

Sun Doggie

D4 Dinghy Alternative Seats
The rain event was more wind than rain, strong winds with gusts up to 44 mph. We drove into town to see what the harbor was like. There was a small sailboat that had dragged anchor and was sitting close to shore. The tide was out. We left and played with Bleu at Notter’s Pond.
More About Kaimu
The Narai was directly descended from Wharram's original V hull catamaran, "Rongo", designed and built in the late 50's. Later came the Narai, MK I, MK II, and MK IV. The MK IV was a total redesign.
When Kaimu was conceptualized by Ernie Sparks in southern California, he discussed his stock Narai plans with someone in WIB Crealock's design office. They modified the plans and added a pilothouse and centerboard. Ernie was a meticulous carpenter and worked on the boat for about a decade. For some reason he changed his voyaging plans and sold the boat to a British engineer, also in southern California, Keith Lamb. Keith worked on the boat for about 3 1/2 years and replaced some of the structure with aluminum fabrications. This included the mast step, the central deck supporting structure, and cross tubes. Unfortunately he was killed while giving his welder flying lessons as part payment for construction.
That was when I became aware of the project and visited to do a survey.
