Autumn Update
It is Indian Summer, and we are in the process of closing up our home in the beautiful mountainous and plan for our annual migratory trek to be on S/V Karma. It's been an adventurous Summer vagabonding around, tending to the Orchard, visiting family and friends out East and enjoying the east coast. You can catch a ray of our journey as we prepare to travel down the Cali Seaboard to be back in Guatemala! let the journey begin! ~~

Strange tropical fruit make me happy!
There is no end to exotic fruit in tropical Guatemala. From one day to the next the selection changes. The nice thing about Guatemala is that Each time I go to town I'm surprised by something new! The other nice thing is that it's so cheap! Although they have fruit you'll recognize such as mango, pineapple, [...]
Breakfast!
This morning breakfast was; sauteed garlic shrimp, wilted spinach, avocado, papaya, and limes. Nice huh?
I'd say that everything is organic, because chickens are free range, beef and pork are on grass or farm feed, fish is fresh from the river, and fruit arrives having been picked that morning. It tastes amazing to get fruit that is tree ripened.
I'm trying to stay close to my paleo diet, and it is much easier to do here. There are few sources of sticky cinnamon buns to tempt me, and the local bread is rather unappealing white stuff. With so much selection of fresh fruit and vegetables at such low prices, it isn't hard to find stuff to enjoy.
I have crossed the line into nice cheese however, as the local orphanage (run by a woman originally from Halifax) has a great selection of really nice cheese. A transgression of the diet that I allow myself.
