Second sail of the season

15 August 2012
Today, we took our neighbours, Mark and Helen, for a sail in the harbour. We had planned to visit McNabb island as they never had been on it. However as we approached the island, we could see the fog rolling in at Chebucto Head. So we decided to turn around and sail in the Bedford Bassin. It was nice to be sailing again, it is so peacefull and quiet without the motor.

Our new main is making a difference in how close to the wind we can sail. It is good.

Allan and Nancy are both retired military folks who wanted to travel beyond the confines of the resorts and the canned vacations. A week in paradise was no longer going to be enough, what was enough were the long cold winters, too few daylight hours and the hibernation from living all year round.... [...]
Extra:

These two trips made us realize that joining the convoys of RV's, campers and cars just wasn't [...]
