Back from Belize
22 June 2014 | Simpson Bay, Sint Maarten
We arrived back from Belize on Monday (June 16th) after our, in total, eight weeks in Belize. The past five weeks have been grueling work and we’re glad it’s over for now although we did get a week off in which we borrowed captain Dave’s car to explore the inland Belize. No trip to Belize is complete without seeing the many Mayan ruins throughout the country. We now need some time to relax and get back into our own routine. It’s a slow process after all the 16hr days over the past 2 months. We have some things to look after now that we’re back on board Kathrian and we realize by mid week we are physically and mentally drained and not prepared to head out for the 3 day trip to Grenada. The weather forecast isn’t perfect either and we take this as a sign to stay put and chill out for a few more days. It’s Sunday today and we are just now feeling ready to head out. We’ll continue watching the weather but it looks like Thursday will bring us a decent 3 day window to do the 380nm to Grenada.
In the mean time we will be staying tune to the live coverage of the World Cup Soccer and especially how Holland will fair out tomorrow.
