Off On A Lark!

So yesterday was our sightseeing day on Huahine Nui, We were going to rent a scooter but a local convinced us we'd be better off with a car. Boy, was he right! It started pouring about 5 minutes after picked up the car and stopped about the time we returned it. You could barely see out the windows and there was no way we were stopping to get out and see anything.

After we returned the car we stopped for a beer at the little restaurant by the dinghy dock. Marnie and Mike wandered in so we decided to have dinner Another great meal and once again, by the time we were finished, the great deluge had begun. Brad and I had come to shore in our inflatable kayak so 'Shelette' offered to give us a ride in their dinghy and tow the kayak alongside. Looked like a good idea to us. It was raining so hard that you couldn't even see in front of the dinghy. We were soaked by the time we got to 'Kattywompus'. 'Shelette' was anchored quite a distance from us so you can imagine how long it took them to wring things out.

Today we're headed west to the island of Raiatea. We need to get a part for the outboard and are hoping we'll find a shop that will have what we need.. It's mostly sunny and we can see the island from here through the clouds. We should be there in 3-4 hours.
