We have sold our house, divied up our belongings amongst our children, bought a sailboat, and now we are almost ready to start an adventure of a lifetime! I have to admit that I am just a little more than terrified at the unknown that is lurking in front of me!

It all began with scuba diving. My husband Richard always wanted to dive, and we got the opportunity 3 years ago to get open water certified. Next was a trip to Cozumel Mexico in 2005, and from then on we talked and dreamed about sailing around the Gulf, visiting exotic dive destinations and living the extreme.

Little did I realize he was serious!! So now, it's time to pack up what little material goods I managed to save, and get ready to go to Lake Texoma, where our "new" 1983 Cal is waiting for us.

I am realizing I know almost nothing about sailboats! Thank God there is a sailing school at the marina where our boat is docked! I'm looking forward to learning the mysteries of phrases like halyard, mizzen and furlers! I'll keep you informed of my progress as I join the brotherhood of the "sails". Thanks
