We spent most of the day yesterday chasing a fuel consumption problem on the Starboard Engine. Found and corrected the problem so the remainder of the journey will be less expensive.
Part of the problem was a low voltage on the distributor coil which came about from installing an electric fuel pump per the manfuacturers recommendation. I ordered an Isolation relay for the fuel pump and we will be stopping at Osprey Marina, for a day (Tuesday), to install it. The symptom did not show up on the Port Engine but I will be installing a relay on the engine also.
We traveled 65 miles today and had a push from the current most of the way. The worst part of the trip was Charleston Harbor. There were at least 5 sailboat races going on and it was damn near impossible to get through the quagmire.
Tomorrow we will go to Butler Island, just past Georgetown, SC.
