Gili Banta was just going to be an overnight anchorage, but someone, not the writer, dropped their glasses overboard. Mike was happy enough to leave them there, but both Ruth and Kelvin said it would be no problem to put diving gear on the next day and retrieve them.... which Ruth did. Probably took her less than 5 minutes. Gili Banta is a very desolate island with much of it having recently been burnt off. Ruth, Mike and I went ashore in the afternoon and contrary to what it says in the "101 Anchorages", it was a haven for all manner of plastic and other floating items. We did pick up some nice shells though.
Solar Planet, a Rally boat came in for an overnighter, we both left at the same time next morning, that being the 8th September.
