After leaving Gili Banata, we did 7 day hops to arrive at Gili Aer on the 15th September. Medana Bay Marina on Lombok was the actual designated anchorage but Kelvin had said Gil Aer was a much nicer and we could just get a ferry across to Lombok. Lombok was where we had to renew our Visas for an extra 30 days. This process took 7 days. We had to go up to Mataram (capital of Lombok) for photo and finger printing. We were able to do some resupplying, as there a two supermarkets in the city. Mike, Kelvin and Ruth were able to have Kentucky Fried Chicken for lunch, not for me. There was also a Macca's, these were the first two fast food joints we had seen since leaving Darwin. We actually did two trips to Mataram, first time we went via Monkey Mountain, named for obvious reasons and the second trip was via Sangiggi a popular seaside resort area.
