Wild Matilda is ready to go

29 May 2007 | Las Olas Marina, Fort Lauderdale
Sunny, winds East 15-20, seas 4-6 in the Gulfstream
We're leaving today! We've had to give up on plans to get to the Bahamas. The winds will not come around to south of east and we are starting to run short of time.

The plan is to run up the Intracoastal Waterway to the Port of Palm Beach. It will be fun looking at the gorgeous homes, but 18 drawbridges? What a hassle that will be. Bruce has been working hard on the boat while I've been madly firing off emails trying to get the schedule finalized and the ThrillerFest program book ready to go to press. Part of the reason we're staying inside today is because I have to be on the phone with the hotel most of the morning.

But it will be progress. We'll anchor tonight and tomorrow morning we'll sail out offshore and shoot straight up to Charleston, South Carolina. I can't wait to get offshore again.

Fair winds!
