Last Happy Hour on Skylark

What a sad title to this blog post! We don't feel terribly sad but it is certainly shocking. How can this be?
This is a photo of our Maine friends Chuck and Enes. I met them in Ann Arbor, Michigan when Enes and I were in grad school together. I still have photos Chuck took from those early years (Ed wasn't in my life at the time); we were so young with long straight hair and dreams of conquering some small piece of the world. That was nearly 30 years ago. Time flies...
It was a poignant evening on Skylark because Chuck and Enes were our first visitors once we left the country for our sea adventure. They came to see us in St. Maarten in early 2012. First and last, it seems fitting somehow.
On another note, I haven't posted on the blog in awhile because we've been up to our eyeballs offloading the boat and moving things into my mother's house. It is a daunting task but so far, so good. Tomorrow Skylark gets hauled. We're trying to offload the heavier items before that happens. I have yet to decide what to do with the blog but for now, I'll continue to post and keep you updated as to our progress. After that? I just don't know.
