Well here we are ! We are still in Taormina! But what a place to be in!
It is hot I have to say! I mean HOT - it’s a humid kind of hot!!

You just deal with it! Lots of swimming to cool down. We are lucky we can do that.

Today we went to “town” to stock up a bit. It’s not like you can go to Costco and load up! It’s little corner shops with a little of this and that! Normally that’s great! When you have a dingy not so easy!

Today we bought chicken! Ya hoo our first “ meat” meal ! Found out the barbecue works! Yay!

The vegetables are on the shelf, not refrigerated! You but then and eat them! Not a long shelf life!

In most of the grocery stores they have the veggie area and the meats area- there’s a person for each area. They put the veg in the bag or slice the meat you want ( not unlike our stores) but more personal. You can’t be in a rush here! There a lot of conversation going on before you! You have to be very patient!

Interesting trying to buy things that you really don’t know what the heck it is you’re buying.

Google translate has been soooo helpful.

I notice how we buy such wonderful crackers - not so much here! Crackers are not ( from what I can see) are not such big thing! All I can find are like soda crackers !

I was trying to buy 100 grams of cheese the other day..so I ended up with a big chunk of some strong white cheese! Lol..

We left the place we were anchored at ( not far from the mooring field we’ve been in) - if the weather gets really “rolly” everyone moves not far from here. Then they come back when things settle.

We are learning so much ! We are also overwhelmed at times with what we have yet to learn. This boat is loaded with technical things!

Today I had to load up my phone - it went very well the first time- this time not so much! I sure would suggest I could speak Italian! Whatever happened this time was not like last time- trying to get more information.... impossible! It’s like trying to get through to Shaw or Telus x 5! Oh well back to that tomorrow!

Monday we should be getting the new alternator installed- we have to go back to Riposto to get that done on Monday-very expensive to be in that marina! We hope it’s just a day thing.

Tomorrow we continue to do boat maintenance things - there’s so much to do ! Day by day!

We can only work at things early in the day and then after 6:00 ish- it’s just too hot otherwise.

There’s much to discover on this boat yet! Last night we were finding out that light switches were turning on step lights! And under the boat lights!
We also found four switches which we have no idea what they do?

We tried out the washing machine today, hmmmm .. made some noise and filled with water.., but that was it! We went to trusty you tube- we think it’s a belt. I always wonder why or how these people have time to make these great informative videos!

Well we are happy to say the wine is very reasonable and tastes great! So tonight we are enjoying a glass in the cool evening air!
