Still the Same

Left Marsh Harbour for quick trip over to Hopetown. Jim was concerned about the tide for his depth, but his planning guaranteed everything was in place. Arrived to a nearly full, bustling harbour. Moored and dinghied to a busy city launch dock. Please throw over a stern anchor, and keep it orderly! I understand order. I can relate. The dinghy dock is a small reflection of what you will come across in town. It has been about ten years, but it still a great deal the same.
Stopped by Vernon's Grocery and he was busy. Broke into conversation to reacquaint and hear the changes. Had to remind him he was in the middle of things. Bahamians have a better grip on what is important than most of us. Walked around town and admired the tidiness. It has a more practiced, bed and breakfast, gentrified feel.
Back to the boat for lunch, then off to the North End to visit an acquaintance. I had not seen Christine for some time; she is still sharp as a tact. The gracious host had us in for an afternoon drink. The former Parisian finds Elbow Cay her home. I understand why.
