Evan
Wanted to stay and experience the full Sunday Pig Roast on Guana but timing and schedule to Georgetown dictate we leave midafternoon. Making passage to
Egg Island for an early arrival to Spanish Wells.
Began trip by immediately fishing and set out trolling line off stern. Put on a pink/white shimmery-skirted dolphin lure even I would consider eating. If I was missing the party, I planned on making my own fun.
Jim announced spotting birds, and the line started sizzling out. Saw the area boiling with feeding fish. It appeared to be some type of schooling tuna. The fish managed to do a few runs and I thought it was going to strip all the line. Fish on, fish off. I hate missing what was on the line. There went dinner.
Sailed by night. Beautiful and boisterous evening. Took two hour shifts. The circuit the compass lights were tied into drain too much power for now. Did not use; sailed using moon as reference. Very cool. Cat -napped in salon in a lee cloth. It is a type of rough water hammock into which I immediately fell asleep. Had piping hot Neopolitan bean soup out of thermos for dinner. Dawn came fast and cold.
