Timed Current Cut wrong and it dictated a change along with other factors of our sailing plans. Anchored outside Spanish Wells at Meeks Patch. Awoke, listened to weather report and worked on the boat. Scoured the fouling line, cleaned the rudder, and scrubbed the waterline on a beautiful morning.
Finally, investigated the beach and the backside of Meeks Patch. A large barracuda greeted us at the beach, and rocketed toward us like he expected to be fed. The beach has a nice little campground set up. The backside of the island is about 150 feet, then you are in its bay. The bay has large shallows with sand dollars and clams. The North side has coconut trees and the South has rocky scrub.
So far I have broken a pair of sunglasses, lost a good ballcap, and destroyed a pair of shoes. In an effort to turn the tables, I have decided to reprovision and outfit myself with found objects. Since items are few and far between, and extremely costly in the Bahamas this seems appropriate. It is also a good way to entertain myself, and Jim. If successful, upon return, will start my own Robinson Crusoe line in Miami.
