Warderick Wells - View from Boo Boo hill

The sail from Warderick Wells was a slow one to start. The winds were light (averaging about 9 knots) on a close reach until we made our last course change heading straight into the wind THEN it picks up to nearly 18 knots out of the NE. The seas built to about 3-4 feet and were very steep in the shallow waters. But we sailed about half of the trip and it was a peaceful sail. We arrived at Highborne Cay mid afternoon and as we approached the western anchorage, the seas and wind calmed somewhat in the lee of the island but not completely. It was still a bit rolly in there with the surge coming around the northern tip of the island. We dinghy'd ashore to the marina to take a look at their little store. It is a nice marina (calm, peaceful, nicely landscaped) but everything was a bit pricey (5 oz can of tuna - $3.05!!). And when we were there, the power was out therefore the internet was down too.

We headed back to Koala at anchor and as we were dinghy-ing out of the marina we saw 5 or 6 sharks feeding underneath the fish cleaning station. They were getting a bit competitive with each other and splashing around in the shallow water. Dinner aboard was once again great as we watched the sunset behind us and only Even got a bit competitive during dinner. We've learned to never get between Evan and his food!!

Tough life! Tomorrow, on to Nassau and hopefully a great sail all the way there.
