The Intrepid Hiking Crew at Warderick Wells

We sailed from Highborne Cay to Nassau today and we were supposed to have ENE winds at 11 knots. Not a great wind for broad reaching, but adequate. The morning started with 13 knots winds and ended with upwards of 20 knots. I don't think that Chris Parker saw that kind of wind in the forecast, but we're happy it showed up. It was a bit tough steering around the coral heads on the Yellow Bank because of the short following seas and it was a bit difficult to read the water due to the seas and occasional clouds. But with Evan on the foredeck spotting the coral, we made it through without incident. The sailing was great and we pulled into Nassau Harbour about 3 pm after getting permission from Harbour Control. We stopped at the fuel dock to top off our diesel and then proceeded to our marina - Nassau Harbour Club. It's a nice little marina complete with pool, laundry and shore side rest rooms and showers. We plan to be here for a few days until Gene departs Saturday and Nicky arrives Saturday night!! With Nicky aboard, we'll sail back to the Exumas for a few days to enjoy the Land and Sea Park. "That's the plan, Stan". Break, more to follow ;~)
Oh, yeah...I forgot to mention that shortly after leaving Highborne Cay, Evan landed a good sized baracuda. My, what enormous teeth you have, my precious! See Candice, he's not just fishing. He's also catching ;~)
