Nassau to Paradise Island - Contrasts
After departing Nassau with Nicky on Sunday morning (No sailing because the wind was very light and on our nose), we made our way to Highborne Cay for the third time. Nicky and I dinghy'd around the beaches on the west and northwest side and into the marina entrance to watch the sharks. Along the way from Nassau, Evan hooked into a good sized fish. So he cleaned it for dinner while we were out in the dinghy. While we hung out on the boat, Evan swam around the boat with the rays and the nurse sharks drifting by under the hull. The sunset....was awesome...again...while we ate dinner in the cockpit!

Monday we moved on to Shroud Cay (part of the Land and Sea Park) which we were visiting for the first time. The winds were light again but we were able to sail on a beam reach most of the way to Shroud. It was a slow but fun ride. Once we arrived, dinghying thru the mangroves was different and fun. I really liked the mooring/anchorage area since it was uncrowded and quiet. And the depth was good in the area of the moorings - 9 feet at low tide.

Today we made it to Warderick, our third time here and Nicky's first time. We hiked the Boo Boo hill trail and further south eventually to the causeway trail. After a quiet afternoon reading & cleaning we had guests over for drinks from the Ava Ryan. We had a great time discussing our trips and plans for the future. Tomorrow we'll head to Black Point to ready ourselves for Nicky's departure back into the real world (of work)!
