Leaving Wrangell
26 May 2013 | Wrangell Alaska
Mike
We left Ketchikan and did a 25 mile trip to Meyers Chuck. On the way we blew out our genoa, which is our big front sail, or head sail. The only spare Head sail we have is a small storm jib. But I guess that will have to do, you just can't walk into a Marine store and buy a new sail. Leaving Meyers Chuck on the morning of the 25th, we had a beautiful trip all the way to Wrangell. No wind so we had to motor all the way. We will see a glimpse of a whale, Donna saw the flukes coming up and a few minutes later I saw the back rolling out of the water, but that was it. We arrived Wrangell at 3:30 PM after leaving Meyers Chuck at 6 AM so it was a long day. This morning we head to Petersburg. We can't get an early start because we must time tirades through Wrangell Narrows so we will arrive Petersburg approximately 7 PM leaving Wrangell at 9 AM. I will post pictures of Wrangell when we arrive Petersburg. Picture is of a hiking trail at Meyers Chuck
