The Standfast 36 we ended up with had been in my peripheral vision for some time, but I had always discarded it as 'above our budget'.
Today we went to view another boat that 'fell short of expectation'.
The broker said he had a similar boat - in better condition -nearby. Told him I knew about it, but that it was above our budget. Broker told us that the owner might consider a low offer.
90 minutes and one low offer later, it seems we have bought a boat (subject to survey).

With the benefit of hindsight, we found our new boat just in time as the whole of Europe went into lockdown only a few days later.

Arranging a boat survey and concluding a sale while you live over 1.3K kilometres away was going to be 'challenging'. Not to mention getting the boat from Holland to Brittany.
