Becky/87 degrees, sunny, windy, beautiful!
We got together with cruisers last night for a "Celebration of Life". One year ago yesterday, a couple just had put new bottom paint on their boat. They were traveling to the Marquesas when they noticed barnacles growing rapidly on the bottom of their boat. The barnacles were weighing them down and the boat started to take on water. They called for help and there was a boat 200 miles away that said they'd come and help. For two days they kept the bilge pumps going and managed to stay afloat until the rescue boat arrived. They were ok, but their boat sank. Today they have a new beautiful sailboat and are continuing to cruise. Another cruiser wrote a poem in their honor. Love the celebration of life when everyone is alive!
