Family Memories
11 October 2016 | Banadup, San Blas Islands
Becky/86 degrees, beautifully sunny
We have been enjoying these last few days with Suzanne who just turned 70 and her three children who took her to Panama for her birthday. They spent 3 nights on one of the islands, then came aboard Kokomo for the next four. We met Katie over a year ago here in the San Blas. She was on an island with some students and we swam to the island and asked if we could take them sailing. We did and got to know Katie, and here we are now!
What a great family! Suzanne is a poet and wrote the following:
Rolling waves rock our boat as we motor on
We hope for enough wind we could sail upon
To see the white canvas stretched across the blue
To hear the engine silenced as we peruse our next destination for another night
And far arisen where spirit can take flight
Every island holds its own special magic
"I'm so grateful I don't get seasick"
While I'm on the subject of feeling grateful
Let me take this moment to say I'm thankful
For my children who make this dream come true
May there be other adventures we can do
I'm grateful to Becky and Denny as well
For fabulous food and navigating swells
For sharing their dream life they have come to know
And may they be blessed wherever they may go
Life is good on Kokomo!
