New Favorite Wine
09 February 2017 | Warderick Wells, Bahamas
Becky/77 degrees
We have been enjoying the snorkeling in Warderick Wells Park. We saw a sunken powerboat, rays, many reef fish and a lion fish. The water is so clear, it is easy to see these beautiful fish, but it sure isn't 86 degrees! It did feel good to get into the water after we went on an over hour long walk. We walked up to the top of Boo Boo hill where there is a memorial of driftwood cruisers have put their name on. It is so beautiful, you can see 360 degrees for miles of aqua blue water!
The Legend of Boo Boo Hill goes like this:
On a wild stormy day many years ago a luckless schooner sank off Warderick Wells. All souls perished in the disaster. Not a single body was recovered for a Christian burial. Local people say that if you climb to the crest of the hill at the bloom of the full moon, you can hear the voices of the lost souls singing hymns. Either by the light of the sun or the glow of the moon, this trail shares with you some of the enchantment of The Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park.
It's not quite a full moon, so we brought out the guitar and Dave played and sang some Greatful Dead songs to the spirits.
Rachel and Dave belong to over 15 wine clubs and they brought to share one of their favorite white wine - Lachini chardonnay . It was delicious!
After two days in the park, we are headed to Norman Cays where we are going to tuck in for some big wind that is coming at midnight and into tomorrow. Over 30 knots of wind!
Life is good on Kokomo!
