I awoke around 6:40 to exercise. It seems weird to be doing my exercises on the boat. I just feel good after completing a work out. Danielle was awake and was peeking out at me while I worked out. At one point she was copying me. She can always get me to smile! After I finished I headed for the computer to try to get wifi service out in the cockpit. The girls knew what I was up to and they were right behind me going out into the cockpit. We went through and checked my emails. Danielle is next and is excited to have four emails. She is busy starting to answer her emails. She has Dad up making us pancakes. Yum! It is nice not having to cook all of the time. After breakfast it was time for school. Kristen went through two math lessons and a full daily lesson. Danielle got caught up in various subjects. Her least favorite subject today was math since it was the metric system. Kelly took over teaching her today, since he is more versed in the metric system then I am. I am glad Kelly can spend time like this with the kids. I know they all enjoy it. We started school at 9:00AM and finished at 2:00PM.
It was then lunchtime and off for some exploring. We ventured around the pond we were anchored in and then further up the creek. The shores were lined with houses and condos that had piers in their front yards. Farther up the creek there were a few canals with very large sport fishing boats tied to their private docks in front of their beautiful homes. We all picked out our favorite. We figured we could afford maybe just a piece of a dock at one of these places. Kelly told us to just wait until we get to Fort Lauderdale, the homes there on the canals rival palaces.
We ended up going all the way up creek into the marsh grass and tied up the dinghy to a sea wall. The kids were happy to be on land again, and off we went exploring. First stop was Dunkin Donuts. The kids spotted the sign as we were venturing up the creek. The kids enjoyed donuts and Kelly and I enjoyed a coffee. From there we walked down to the main street. We could see a lighthouse a few blocks away and decided to check it out. When we got to it, it stood in the middle of a rotary! The rules for the driving around the rotary are different here. The traffic in the rotary has to yield to the entering traffic! Nothing like what we are use to in Massachusetts. Oh well, we decided to turn around and checked out a fishing supply shop and a dollar store. Then we went onto a market for some staples, and then ventured back to the dinghy with goods in hand. We hopped into the dinghy and motored back to the boat. Once we got to the boat we raised the dinghy in the davits and got everything outside ready for an early morning departure. We are hoping to make it to Ocean City, MD, and that the seas and wind will be with us. Today was in the 80's. The same is forecasted for the next two days. We had dinner and then sat around doing some lateral thinking games. We then talked with Grammy and Granddad Gregg. It was nice to hear their voices. I also called my Mom, someone I really miss a lot.
