Meeting up with best friends

Vero Beach, FL to Faber Cove, Causeway Island, Fort Pierce

We woke to our warmest start to the day in a long while. We head to the dock for water and to pay for the mooring. We arrive at Farber Cove where Cindy and John are around noontime. The cove is small and we are the only boats anchored in it. Nice homes surround us, each having their own dock; most have boats tied to them. After we anchor a rain cloud unloads on us for a short while before we go and visit with Robin on Tashmoo. I was so glad to that we got to visit with her. We figured that it was almost 18 years since we had seen each other. We had some beer and wine and an afternoon of fun conversation. We then packed up and head to Robin's house for dinner. We meet her son Marcus who is 21 and his son Caleb who is 3. I can't believe Robin is a grandmother. We also meet Robin's daughter Katelyn who is 15. Katelyn and Marcus made us a wonderful steak dinner. We had a great time visiting. It was nice to see Robin and her kids are doing so well. Danielle and Kristen enjoy playing with Caleb while we continued to catch up on the past. We head back to the boats around 11:30. We said our good-byes and hope it is not as long between visits again. We arrive back at our boats and are in bed by midnight. This was a nice day.

Extra:
It was the summer of 2001 when we were bored and found ourselves riding around in the car going from one marina to the next looking at other people's boats. It must have been a lousy sailing day for us not to be out and about somewhere on our own boat. Then, there it was, sitting on the hard with [...]
