We really enjoyed being back in the Greece Ionion, around the Nidri area from 22nd August until until 2nd September hanging out with Pete & Lyn & doing odd jobs on the boat. Repairs, food shopping, meals out, mooring fees, fuel- all OK but we did spend quite a few Euros!
We had a great sail on Saturday 3rd south to Cephalonia, to anchor off Fiscardo for the night - we even had a Greek T-bone on the BBQ to celebrate and reminisce on our sailing in Greek waters over a few summers. Our two day passage to the ‘heel’ of Italy went fine, unfortunately more motoring than sailing. Again our arrival timing was just right - arriving at 1st light on Tuesday 6th into the marina at Rochelle Ionion. Nothing at all had changed here at this unfinished marina in the 6 years since we last passed through - still no electricity, water or marina facilities - but the Restaurant/Bar had good WiFi to arrange for some Perkins engine parts. As always in the Med – there is either too much or too little wind – and always from the direction you need to head! - so we were here 2 days waiting for the northerlies to ease.
