Almerimar Marina - We had visited here in 2002 and not much looked to have changed. We were allocated a berth and had a successful day arranging our various repairs and getting the lay of the land. We were going to be here awhile, and this would be our final major marina stop before our Atlantic crossing -so thankfully we found good repair facilities, an excellent German engine mechanic, and a good sailmaker . Our Aussie mates on Ednbal arrived after a few days and we had lovely warm and sunny days to get our various jobs done. There were a few other cruising boats - this marina is a real crossroads for coming and going in and out of the Med - so we had a few nights out and lots of interesting chat. Darsena 2 - number 183 has become our base, with the clocks now on winter time, and the sleeping bags out - due to the cold nights! We flew back to the UK on Saturday 5th - hopefully to catch up with as many friends as possible, and have an early Christmas celebration. We had a long list of jobs - to source a few spare and essential parts, arrange for the autopilot repair, arrange our US visa, setup our Satellite phone for emergency phone calls, email and weather forecasts etc.etc, etc..........
