After visiting Port Elizabeth, Bequia, the ever beautiful Tobago Cays, Happy Island, PSV and all the usual haunts, we spent an evening/night in Tyrrel Bay preparing for our long last trip down the windward side of Grenada to Prickly Bay where M would be flying home, and Mike and the Captain would put the very gorgeous Lady Liv to bed for the hurricane season. However, John the Oyster Man, paid us a visit in Tyrrel Bay, asking as usual if we wanted to try the mangrove oysters, to which Mike enthusiastically replied - before we could stop him - 'Yes ! We'll take two dozen ....' Little were we prepared for the feast which awaited us !!! Or not... From the writer's point of view (M ) I could not countenance anything worse than opening up a slimy little shell to reveal a living slimy creature - wafer thin - which you slipped down your throat with at least four more to make it worthwhile, whilst dowsing these pitiful creatures with tabasco and lemon juice ! In fact, I remarked - when being offered one helping - that 'I'd rather eat my own head', which caused rapturous laughter from Mike, the Captain and our mate, Jeff who had joined us for the feast !!
