Over the past few years, we have become very fond of Petite Martinique which although a tiny island is definitely the jewel in Grenada's crown. Our love of PM started in 2008 when her people successfully caught the thief that had robbed us overnight whilst in the anchorage at PSV. They turned the 'tief' in when they recognised that he was not one of them, and he was trying to find chargers for the mobile phones that he had stolen from us .. Since then, we have shared a Maroon, various parties, forged relationships with islanders, visited the fuel dock and stores regularly (thank you Gary !) and generally shared highs & lows over the years. We watched our friend Jeff's beautiful traditional sloop 'Beauty of Petite Martinique' being built from scratch on the beach.

This season we shared some of the Independence celebrations, and were amazed at the National pride that this small island has, and the efforts that the people made to win Best Village, not to mention best boat in the Workboat Regatta in Grenada. These are some of the friendliest and unassuming people we have met throughout the Eastern Caribbean, without a doubt !
