Passed New Caledonia

We passed the Northern tip of the New Caledonia reefs yesterday lunchtime, and are now heading towards Chesterfield reefs. The wind is quite strong so we are trying to keep our speed down to arrive there next morning. Theoretically going slower is easier than going fast, but it still is a difficult trick to keep a speed that gets you to your destination at a particular time. It also goes a bit against the grail to deliberately go slow. We basically have the wind on the beam which makes for a fast bumpy sail. We also had a strong current last night adding to our speed. That seems to have dropped a bit now.
All's well on board
