Bumpy, bumpy bumpy
24 May 2011 | Gulf of Carpentaria
Michael and Jackie
We are now about half way across the Gulf of Carpentaria. The gulf is notorious for its rough seas and as we have found it's certainly justified. We left the calm waters of Seisia thinking perhaps it won't be that bad. But as the day wore on the wind rose and from a poor direction for us, and the seas became progressively choppier with winds up to 40 knots. We are hoping to arrive at Cape Wessell tomorrow and plan to anchor for a night there before continuing on in the direction of Darwiin.
