Cocktails and more cocktails

Jackie and Michael
On Thursday evening we all got together to walk into the centre of town to watch some dancers from Tonga. There was lots going on in the central park with packed crowds around market stalls selling a range of goods from pearls to paella. Unfortunately no bars were open, so we wandered around until the dancing started, and left after it had finished. We then all went back to Harmonie for cocktails. Anne had produced a lovely range of pickies, and after one of Don's excellent American G&Ts we felt a lot more relaxed!
The following evening, we were invited onto Southern Princess for another round of cocktails. John did a great job serving drinks and Irene had really upped the stakes by providing a feast of delicious hot and cold canapes. Needless to say, none of us needed anything further to eat that night. We had just got back to the boat and were about to call it a day and have an early night, when a guy from Cornwall and his NZ partner turned up. We had met them earlier in the day when Michael was busy on one of his projects, so he suggested that they might like to pop round for a beer some time- and this was when they decided to come. It was really nice to chat about Cornwall with them, but they stayed until almost midnight - with Michael & I barely able to keep our eyes open.
Further work on the boat on Saturday, plus some abortive attempts at shopping when everything was closed for lunch. For lunch we had the supper that we hadn't needed the night before. A good excuse for a lazy lunch followed by an afternoon nap. 6pm, cocktail time again, this time on Basia. Barbara also produced a wonderful range of hot and cold canapes, and Anne also brought along an impressive plate. It was interesting to see around Basia, as we hadn't been on an owner's version of a Privilege catamaran before. Most impressive. Again the drinks and conversation flowed, and again we didn't need anything to eat when we went back to the boat - I had learnt my lesson by this time and had not prepared anything.
Sunday was a time for rest and recuperation.
Basia and Williwaw are off to Australia mid-week and we plan to leave for a cruise around the little islands in the lagoon on Monday or Tuesday.
