On Land - almost

We had a good sail to Gulf Harbour and have been in the marina since Monday. The 'photo shows the view from Lady Kay across to Auckland - you can just see a hint of it in the distance. There is a ferry from here to Auckland which takes under an hour and it is only 45 minutes drive.
We hired a car and spent a couple of days looking for camper vans (driving through Auckland several times) as well as doing some shopping and generally looking around. It is a very pleasant area and the weather has been good. We finally decided on a camper van and are due to pick it up on Tuesday - the day our boat is hauled out, which will hopefully work out well.
This weekend is cleaning and preparation for the haul-out, with a few outings thrown in. We have seen some wonderful wading birds in the wildlife area just north of the marina, and I saw a parrot yesterday. We are shortly going across to the Sunday market on the opposite side of the marina, and will then stow the outboard engine and dinghy.
