Left Hamble Tuesday about 14.00 motored down to Yarmouth decided that it might be a good idea to put a bit of fuel in as did not want to risk running out on the way. we put in £30-00 pounds, then went straight out again to start out on our journey. Bright sunshine, wind from the east about force three, motor sailed for a time then turned off engine, took it in turns on watch two hours each, when it started to get dark about 10.00 the wind didn't increase much had a full fore sail out sailing about 5.5 kts the sea state was getting more and more disturbed, the sky became very dark and foreboding it started to pour with rain, thunder and lighting all around by this time the sea was hysterical not disturbed it was like ridding a bucking bronco, it was the sea I think I have been in. anyway we decided to change coarse for Guernsey as I had had a fall and damaged my back, arrived in Guernsey at 5.30 moored on the outside pontoon's
went below had a bowl of corn flakes then went to bed.
