02 February 2016 | Bahai de La Paz
John
This whale was as big as L'Ange, 40', and there was more under the water.

Whale watching - TOOOOO Close

02 February 2016 | Bahai de la Paz
John
Surprise. surprise when a large whale decides to broach beside you as we were quietly sailing and starts to slap his tail with a loud crack.

Chiapas and the Maya Ruins of Pelanki

02 February 2016 | Pelanki
John
These Maya temples and pyramids are now only partially uncovered and cover the side of a small mountain covered in Jungle. We were there in the off season so travel and crowds were minimal.

Pyramids of Mexico City - Teotihuatan

17 January 2016 | Mexico City
John
One hours drive from Mexico City are the remains of the 2 largest pyramids outside of Egypt. We spent 3 hours walking all over the temples and pyramids, and amazing site. Well worth putting up with the crazy traffic jams. But one day was enough, and we got out. The Teothuatan were the people who lived in the area before the arrival of the Spanish

Christmas in Mexico City

17 January 2016 | Mexico City
John
Who would of thought of ice skating in central Mexico City over Christmas and New Year. They set up an enormous Christmas tree, and 3 ice skating rinks and the place is packed. On our way to the State of Chiapas in Southern Mexico we stopped in Mexico City to visit the pyramids just outside of the City. And we found the skating action

L'Ange Bottom Paint

16 December 2015
It has been about 3+ years since the last bottom job, so we did a haul out in La Paz. Marinas here are more expensive than Canada, and the work in the yards is about the same as in Canada. We look like we will be returning with L'Ange next April, so I will not have to worry about painting for a couple of years. Also the paint here is usually a type you cannot get in Canada (little stronger?), so should last longer.
