15 June 2014 | Pasa Koyu - Ayvalik
We have been in Cesme for two and a half weeks to get some repairs done: the turbocharger has to be replaced and had to be sent from Germany, the AIS quit one day after we have left Sicily and had to be replaced as well. There was too much strain on the main sail halyard and we had to change the set-up. The track for the main sail sliders was damaged and a new one had to be ordered. Some maintenance was necessary for the after head, but as we couldn't get the parts here, just fixed it temporarily: Wilson bring will them later from US. Replaced some hose at the watermarker and fixed the electric connections.
We got some quotes for new bimini, spray hood and upholstery in saloon, but we declined because we thought it ridicilous expensive. Also tried to get our refrigeration compressor unit replaced, but seems they do not have something suitable in Turkey.
And eventually I bought a new 3.5 RIB. Yesterday , Saturday evening, we were ready to go again and used the favourable weather window to go North. The meltemi will stop for a few days. We motored during the night around 70 miles to Ayvalik.
