After we left Chios our plan was to go to Mykonos, but when we approached the island we had over 30 kn wind and we didn't dare to go into an unknown marina under such conditions. We run along the west coast of Mykonos with 9 kn SOG, which was really exciting and continued to Paraoika on Paros. There is a big bay which offers good shelter from the meltemi and we stayed there for a few days. The town is very attractive, with many restaurants, good shopping and friendly people. We continued to Ios and anchored in a small by south of Ios port, but then the wind turned to south, which is a bit unusual for this time. As the anchorage became uncomfortable we decided to head north again to Iraklia with a better protected anchorage on the NE of the island. After we arrived we jumped into the dinghy went onshore and had dinner in one of the 2 tavernas.
During the night Lynn woke me up as it was raining cats and dogs and all the hatches open. We run around closing them and Lynn squeezed her fingers.
The last thing we would have expected was rain.
