So this weekend I pretty much learned how 90% of the boat works. Understand the sails and the ropes. The only thing I am kind of confused about is how the daggerboard works. How do you keep it from falling into the water? If anyone can help with this please do. Here's a picture.

Bought a boat Tuesday the 19th. 900 bucks for a 14 foot skipjack with the trailer. So many ropes, wires and poles. No clue what I'm doing.
