Northeast Harbor up the Sommes

LBW, Beautiful
August 6
Doug and Lucy got up early and took the new dingy over to shore and climbed up the mountain to a botanical garden at a resort on the hill. I don’t know how they got there because there were no visible paths and it looked straight up. On the way back they dingyed over to town and picked up some pastries for breakfast. It is a beautiful day and we are going to head to Sommes Harbor to a place called Arlies Lobster Pound for lobsters in the rough.
Arlies is everything you would expect from a basic grass roots lobster in the rough place. Pulled into their harbor, took up a mooring and headed in for a few beers, lobsters and steamers. Great views, beautiful weather. Look for the selfie photos when I can figure out how to post them.
Got back on the boat and headed further up to Sommes to the end where it was an obvious popular anchorage. It looks like people leave their boats here and come back to use them either on the weekends or periodically through out the summer.
We all took a nap in the early pm and got up for snacks and drinks on the bow.
This is a very protected anchorage so the water is glass smooth. It is warm and picturesque. We sat on the bow in the bean bag chairs until sunset and then came in and made dinner. The time flew buy and before you knew it ……it was 11pm before we went to bed. Started reading the book Enriques’s Journey.
