After dinner last night the breeze from the NW gradually rose to give a great run through the night though I did have to shorten sail at some ridiculously dark hour. Made up for it with a good sleep in whilst casting the odd bleary eye over the course computer and the AIS screen, though I'm so far off the coast there is no discernible shipping out here. By lunchtime the wind was easing off and backing so now at 9pm L'Eau Commotion is drifting aimlessly. I might get some wind from the NW during the night but it's pretty certain there will be a half gale of a headwind for a full 24 hours from tomorrow evening and 'though these sorts of conditions are to be expected it doesn't mean they are welcomed. Also getting sick of rump steak every night but have the perfect cure for this malaise - two hundred tins of tuna.
