Its now 7pm HWST Wednesday evening 9th August and a pretty rough afternoon its been. The wind has been all of the 35 knot forecast from the North which required the complete stowing of the mainsail and the headsail furled down to a pocket handkerchief and backed by tensioning the starboard sheet, which mostly overcomes the tendency to round up when slapped on the b*m by one of the more precocious waves. For those younger readers of the age of Kleenex and not familiar with pocket handkerchiefs it means quite small. Oh yes and HWST roughly translates as Half Way Standard Time being halfway between Perth and Brisbane time i.e UTC plus 9 hours. It only requires one digital button press to align the time zone to the rise of the full moon instead of thirty to get Adelaide time zone. Now I know they need lots of wind to power their windmills but I figure the sooner I get out of their WeatherZone the better.
